In recognition of his unwavering and incredibly enthusiastic commitment to Peninsula Villages and building community spirit, Geoff Melville has been made a life member of the award-winning aged care organisation.
A member of the Board of Directors for the last 16 years and a well-respected personality on the Peninsula, Geoff has an extensive knowledge of the property market and has been a key facilitator as Peninsula Villages strategically advanced its landholdings in that time.
Further to this, Geoff was Chair of the Peninsula Villages Building Committee which earlier this year awarded a $30 million contract to build a state-of-the-art aged care development of 114 beds to provide much needed care and accommodation for seniors in the local community.
Geoff has also been a highly active member of the Rotary Club of Umina, Empire Bay Progress Association, Empire Bay Public School P&C Association and a variety of local Probus Clubs – all of whom he has championed the Peninsula Villages brand to.
The life membership is the second time this year that his work in the community has been recognised, after being presented in March with the NSW Government’s Local Achievement Award for a lifetime of services to the community.
Peninsula Villages Chief Executive Officer, Shane Neaves was glowing in his praise for Geoff, a man he is lucky enough to call a personal friend.
“I have absolutely no doubt that Geoff has provided Peninsula Villages and the local community with tremendous service and commitment for many years, something he does unconditionally and without seeking any personal gratification,” said Shane.
“It speaks highly to the fine man that he is, we would do well to follow his lead.
“Geoff remembers resident’s birthdays and is always willing to lend a hand if it’s in service of improving the lifestyle of the Village – in many ways it’s the little things that he does that have the most profound effect.
“As one of the largest providers of aged care on the Central Coast, we are proud to reward his many years of hard work with this life membership,” Shane added.
Peninsula Villages has presented Geoff with his life membership honouring this outstanding achievement to the not-for-profit organisation.
